Our target
This provisional statement was reviewed on 16 July 2026. This website is designed to target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at Level AA. That target is not a claim of conformance. Formal conformance requires representative production scope, manual assistive-technology testing, correction of identified defects and independent verification.
Measures built into this version
- Semantic headings, landmarks, native links and form controls.
- A skip link, visible focus and logical keyboard order.
- A skippable startup logo animation: the Skip introduction control and Escape key continue immediately, and the reduced-motion preference shortens the sequence.
- A visible pause/resume control for the rotating homepage hero; automatic video and slide motion stop when reduced motion is requested.
- Responsive reflow, text resizing, forced-colour support and large primary targets.
- Associated labels, collection-purpose disclosure, required service-use acknowledgement, validation feedback and focusable error status for the homepage enquiry form.
- Honest 404 handling and descriptive links.
- No inaccessible brochure is required for core programme facts.
Known boundaries
- Independent assistive-technology verification is still required before public launch.
- The homepage film is a silent promotional montage. Its caption track identifies the absence of speech and sound, while the adjacent visible spotlight panel supplies the programme context; this is not a substitute for a future shot-by-shot audio-description review if the film changes.
- External Great Lakes pages and documents are outside this site’s technical control and may have different accessibility characteristics.
- The hosting platform’s private-access screen, if enabled, is supplied by the platform and requires separate assessment.
- Current programme teams must confirm how applicants request accommodations for selection, campus participation and learning delivery.

Response process
The proposed service is to acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days, provide a substantive response or interim update within five business days, offer an accessible alternative where feasible, and assign corrective ownership. These response times remain subject to institutional approval.
